KTM MONSTER SCRAMBLER 1290 R

The Adventure Motorcycle Scene in 2020 & 2021 had taken a huge turn through the dark days of Covid lockdowns so people started thinking seriously about getting out into remote areas to stay secluded and mostly away from other humans. So it was about finding a vehicle that can take you to remote areas where there are no roads, no crowds, no people. So whilst the rest of Australia was isolated at home on Zoom meetings, Gasoline Motor Co. went on the hunt for the fastest and most capable off-road machine they could possibly find that could handle the expansive deserts, sand dunes, rough terrain and mountain ridges of Australia.

After deliberating on Yamahas and Hondas, they decided to tackle a brand new KTM 1290 Super Adventure R model which was pretty ugly as an OEM machine, but had the most technology and performance in an off road motorcycle on the market. They aimed to make this custom a lot more hardcore than the KTM motorcycle was already capable of doing from the factory.

As a bike building team, most of our workshop technicians ride off road, adventure and motor cross machines on the weekends and in their down time so we have an experienced and educated understanding as to what is needed both in style design, functionality and performance to build such an off road monster.

Were not going to go into great lengths as to how this bike was designed and built but you can see what we created after our photographer Adrian Veale captured the finished machine in close detail.
